SINCE 2011 | 23–28 NOVEMBER 2026 | PHILHARMONIE DE PARIS
Before the baton, there was the instrument.
THE ACADEMY
The Orchestre de Chambre de Paris has long made play-conducting a cornerstone of its artistic identity — a practice that demands, and enables, an exceptional musical complicity. The Paris Play-Conduct Academy, active since 2011, returns with a new edition in its original spirit — welcoming strings and winds alike.
The Academy places you at the centre of a fully professional orchestra for an intensive week of rehearsals and performance. You will work under the guidance of Jan Söderblom and Astrig Siranossian — two artists who have built their careers at the intersection of performance and direction.
FACULTY
Artistic directors
Jan Söderblom — violinist and conductor
Astrig Siranossian — cellist and conductor
PROGRAM
One or two concertos of the candidate’s choice, provided that the instrumentation does not exceed the orchestra’s lineup: 2222-2200-tmp-strings. The academy will also include an orchestral work, to be defined.
Closing concert: Saturday 28 November, Le Studio, Philharmonie de Paris
The concert will be filmed and may be broadcast on the orchestra’s networks.
