After first studying the violin, Aurélie Deschamps Caillon turned to the viola, drawn to its warm, full, and penetrating sound.

In 2003, she joined the class of Pierre-Henri Xuereb at the CNSMD de Paris, where she was unanimously awarded a Premier Prix. She now performs regularly in France and abroad, both as a soloist and in chamber music ensembles.

Her career has been marked by numerous musical collaborations, notably with Massimo Quarta, Svetlin Roussev, the Enesco Quartet, Fabrice Pierre, Michel Strauss, Alain Meunier, Nicolas Dautricourt, Yuval Gotlibovich, Niek de Groot, Bruno Pasquier, Vladimir Mendelssohn, Amaury Coeytaux, Sergio Azzolini, Michel Lethiec, Hagai Shaham, Frédéric Laroque, Michel Michalakakos, Gordan Nikolić, Laurent Korcia, Philippe Bernold, and Jean-Louis Beaumadier.

She has performed under the baton of many distinguished conductors, including Pierre Boulez, Emmanuel Krivine, Jesús López Cobos, Kent Nagano, Myung-Whun Chung, Mikko Franck, Susanna Mälkki, and Zsolt Nagy.
