2023 Paris Play-Conduct Academy
The Orchestre de chambre de Paris has made a central place to the play-conduct practice in its work, considering that it constitutes a strengthening of musical links, an unparalleled complicity, leading to a true interpretative enrichment.
Developing one’s art of conducting with an orchestra is a unique experience of artistic encounter. Direct contact with the musicians of the orchestra, working together on style, articulation, balance or learning to play: all these elements give the concerto form a true chamber music spirit.
The Orchestre de chambre de Paris has made playing and conducting one of the pillars of its work and created the Paris Play-Direct Academy in order to train emerging artists in this technique, under optimal conditions. This academy takes place every two years and is part of the OCP-Transmission program which aims to support young artists in their professionalization.
Dedicated to violin and piano, the next edition of Paris Play-Direct Academy takes place from September 4 to 8, 2023 at the Philharmonie de Paris.
Work sessions with the quartet of soloists from the Orchestre de chambre de Paris will precede the orchestral session and master classes given by Catherine Larsen-Maguire (conducting), Antje Weithaas (violin) and Javier Perianes (piano).
