Claire Parruitte
alto co-solo
Claire Parruitte began her musical studies at the Reims Conservatory, where she earned a degree in violin. She discovered the viola in 2007 under the guidance of Pascal Robault, and two years later, entered the CNSMD in Paris to study viola with Jean Sulem. Her training also included a semester at the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Jeffrey Irvine.
Deeply committed to musical instruction, she obtained teaching certificates in both viola and violin from the CNSMDP, and subsequently taught both instruments at several conservatories in the Île-de-France region.
Alongside her teaching, Claire Parruitte has pursued a rich orchestral career. She was a permanent violinist with Les Siècles for ten years, and has also performed as a violist with the Orchestre de Paris and the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France.
She joined the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris as a violist in 2015 and was appointed co-princpal viola in 2020. A passionate chamber musician, she founded the Ensemble Kyrielle, a chamber group with a changing lineup, in 2011.
