Guillaume Pierlot
Oboe second soloist
Born in 1982, Guillaume Pierlot began studying the oboe at the age of nine with his grandfather, Pierre Pierlot. He continued his training at the Conservatoire National de Région (CNR) of Rueil-Malmaison in Daniel Arrignon’s class, where he was unanimously awarded first prize at the advanced level in 2000, followed by first prizes at the excellence level in 2001 and virtuosity level in 2002. He went on to study at the CNR of Paris with Jean-Claude Jaboulay, before entering the CNSMD in Paris in 2003, in the class of Jacques Tys. In 2007, he received the advanced studies diploma with highest honours, awarded unanimously. He has led various chamber music ensembles, and in 2008, as part of a reed trio, earned an advanced degree in chamber music from the CNSMD under David Walter.
Guillaume Pierlot has performed with major Parisian orchestras, including the Opéra de Paris, Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, Orchestre National de France, Ensemble Intercontemporain de Paris, Les Dissonances, as well as with other French orchestras, such as the Orchestre National de Lille, Opéra de Tours, and Opéra de Toulon. He has played under the baton of emanant conductors such as Kurt Masur, Riccardo Muti, Gustavo Dudamel, Myung-Whun Chung, and Daniele Gatti. He is also regularly invited to perform with distinguished chamber ensembles such as Ars Nova and L’Itinéraire.
Guillaume Pierlot has been a member of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris since 2018.
