Jeroen Dupont
Violon
Jeroen Dupont studied with Herman Krebbers and Coosje Wijzenbeek from 1997 to 2004, before continuing with Vera Beths. He graduated from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague with the highest honours, summa cum laude, and attended masterclasses with Giuliano Carmignola at the prestigious Accademia Musicale Chigiana in Siena, Italy, where he received a diploma of merit. He completed his studies at the CNSMD in Paris under Roland Daugareil.
In 2001, he won first prize in the finals of the Prinses Christina Concours, as well as the international prize at the Kulturstiftung Hohenlohe (Kloster Schöntal) violin competition. He went on to win the Davina van Wely competition in The Hague in 2003, and in 2007, took first prize at the 21st National Violin Competition, also known as the Oskar Back Prize, in Amsterdam.
As a soloist, Jeroen Dupont has performed with the Mendelssohn Chamber Orchestra, the Zürcher Kammerorchester, the Rotterdams Philharmonisch Orkest, the Concertgebouw Chamber Orchestra, the Limburgs Symfonie Orkest, and the Bombay Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2022, he performed Hans Henkemans’s concerto with the World Doctors Orchestra in the Concertgebouw’s main hall in Amsterdam.
In addition to his performing career, Jeroen Dupont is an accomplished composer, with works including violin duets and a divertimento for string ensemble.
He has been a member of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris, since April 2023.
He plays a violin made in Milan in 1714 by Giovanni Battista Grancino, generously loaned by the Dutch Musical Instrument Foundation.
