Robin de Talhouët
violoncelle co-solo
Robin de Talhouët studied at the CNSMD in Paris with Raphaël Pidoux and Emmanuelle Bertrand. A dedicated chamber musician, he has performed in trios and quartets on numerous European stages. Passionate about the works he performs and champions, he approaches contemporary music with deep commitment. This keen interest has led him to premiere Beans, a composition for solo cello by Raphaël Merlin, and to play Stockhausen’s Sonntag aus Licht opera with Le Balcon ensemble. He is also committed to performing rare and early repertoires on period instruments. These two areas of interest, which require particular attention to detail and rhetoric, greatly enrich his artistry. In 2022 and 2023, he participated in the Seiji Ozawa International Academy, a formative experience that shaped his high standards and fostered his love of orchestral music. He has benefited from the guidance of many mentors, including Miklós Perényi and Christophe Coin.
He joined the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris in 2024 as co-principal cello.
