Sabine Bouthinon

Sabine Bouthinon studied at the CNSMD in Paris with Jean Sulem, earning first prizes in both viola and chamber music, unanimously, in 1994.

She continued her studies with Tasso Adamopoulos in an advanced postgraduate course at the CNSMD in Lyon, graduating with unanimous honours in 1995. In 1998, she received the French national teaching diploma (Certificat d’aptitude) for viola as part of the pedagogy programme at the CNSMD in Paris. In 2002, invited by Yale University, she was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship and studied with Jesse Levine and the Tokyo String Quartet. She continues to perform as a chamber musician and teaches at the conservatoire of Paris’s 17th arrondissement. She has been a member of the Orchestre de chambre de Paris since 1998.
