Ilyes Boufadden-Adloff
Principal oboe
An accomplished virtuoso and eager explorer, Ilyes Boufadden-Adloff has won top prizes at prestigious international competitions, including ARD Munich, Aeolus, and Barbirolli, and has performed on some of Europe’s most celebrated stages, such as the Elbphilharmonie in Hamburg, the Barbican Centre in London, and the Konzerthäuser in Berlin and Vienna. From the ARD in Munich to the Philharmonie de Paris, he asserts the oboe as a truly expressive solo voice.
Ilyes Boufadden-Adloff has established himself as one of Europe’s rising oboe talents. A graduate of the CNSMD in Paris, he has performed as a soloist with distinguished orchestras including Bayerischer Rundfunk, Münchner Kammerorchester, RTV Slovenija, and the Düsseldorfer Symphoniker. He enriches the oboe repertoire through commissions, transcriptions, and original compositions, helping to forge his instrument’s place as a unique solo voice. He has developed his Orient Express project—a musical journey from Paris to Istanbul weaving together works by Mozart, Saint-Saëns, and Fazil Say with Kabyle, Balkan, and Eastern traditions. Conceived as a journey of discovery and cultural exchange, this project has shaped a repertoire that highlights his distinctive artistry. As a chamber musician, he founded the Cocteau Trio (with Lola Descours and Renaud Guy-Rousseau) and the Phantasy Quartet (with Hanna Salzenstein, Paul Zientara, and Vassily Chmykov), attesting to his love of shared music.
Ilyes Boufadden-Adloff has held the principal oboe position in the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris since 2017. He also teaches at the Regional Conservatory of Versailles.
