Mirana Tutuianu

Born from a family of musicians, Mirana Tutuianu began studying violin at age four with her grandfather. She pursued her training at the George Enescu National University of Arts in Bucharest with Stefan Gheorghiu and Marius Cristescu.

A laureate of the Académie Internationale Maurice-Ravel, a member of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, and first prize winner at the Conservatoire de Genève in Jean-Pierre Wallez’s class, she also performed as an actress and violinist in Oh, ces beaux jours, Monsieur Beckett, a play by Ada d’Albon. A tenured professor appointed by the City of Paris, she teaches at the conservatory of the 9th arrondissement and recorded previously unpublished melodies by Ciprian Porumbescu for the CD Un romantique éternel. She is the composer of 14 Études – Caprices pour violon seul based on themes from Neapolitan songs, published by Fortin-Armiane. She is part of the music group Salad and has been a member of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris since 1991.
