Suzanne Durand-Rivière

Suzanne Durand-Rivière studied with Tetiana Zolozova and later Suzanne Gessner at the Regional Conservatory in Paris, and was unanimously admitted to the CNSMD in Paris where she continued her studies with Stéphanie-Marie Degand, Catherine Montier, and Thibault Vieux. She was awarded first prize in chamber music at the Académie Ravel in 2017 and has performed with the Orchestre Français des Jeunes, the Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, and the Académie de l’Orchestre de Paris.
She regularly performs with major symphonic orchestras, including the Opéra National de Paris, the Orchestre Philharmonique de Strasbourg, and the Orchestre National de Bordeaux Aquitaine. In 2024, she co-founded Musique en Pays Bigouden, a chamber music festival in southern Finistère (Brittany), where she serves as music director. Deeply committed to teaching, she is currently a violin professor at the conservatory of Paris’s 8th arrondissement and at the CRC in Sèvres. She has been co-principal violinist of the Orchestre de Chambre de Paris since 2019.
